    Patricia J. Brown (nee Zulas), loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away on July 21 at Bolingbrook Hospital as a result of colon cancer. She was 66. Pat, or Patty, was born on Aug. 25, 1950 at Elmhurst Hospital and was preceded in death by her loving parents – Jim in 1993 and Helen in 2014 – and her daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Lee in 1979. She is survived by her son David (Shawna) Brown; her siblings George (Dawn) Zulas, Ginger (Mike) Kenig and Jo-Ellen (Scott) Douglas; grandchildren Carter and Sydney Brown and Joshua Guski; and nieces and nephews George Zulas, Tom Zulas, Mike Kenig, Todd Kenig, Mary Douglas and Renee Douglas and their families.Pat had a spirited sense of adventure she also shared with members of her family on many trips around the United States as well as other countries, visiting Prague, a country of her ancestors, as well as England, Ireland, France and Scotland.Closer to home, Pat would never say “no” to a trip to the beach or a weekend with her grandchildren. No matter what she did, she always had a positive attitude and a smile that would not only light up a room, but put everyone at ease. Pat, and her favorite feline Top Cat or “TC”, would open her home and welcome friends and family with open arms. A caring, compassionate and unconditionally loving person, Pat will be missed by every soul she touched and her presence will resonate for generations.A memorial service in honor of Pat, as well as a short service following, will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 28 at West Suburban Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 39 N.     Arlouine E. Nelson (nee Hamann) was called by the Lord to her eternal home on July 20, 2017 after a long full life of 92 yrs. Born in Cicero, Illinois, March 8, 1925, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years Gerald P. Nelson, a brother Allan Hamann, and her parents Christian and Esther Hamann. She leaves cherished memories to daughter, Jean Fredriks, Dallas, TX; son, Jim (Susan) Nelson, Granger, IN; three grandchildren, Ryan (Kersti) Nelson, Hawthorne, CA; Sara Nelson, Mishawaka, IN; and Tory (Molly) Nelson, Lawndale, CA; 2 great grandchildren, Evan and Spencer Nelson, Hawthorne, CA; and a brother James (Phyllis) Hamann, Snohomish, WA.
    Arlouine graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana with a degree in education and music in 1946. After her graduation, she enjoyed a 38 year teaching career in the Chicago area. Later she continued with her education and received her masters at Northern Illinois University. She sang in her church choir, enjoyed extensive travel with her family, and became an integral part of the community. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher’s organization, where she joined a small singing group called the Pedagogues giving concerts all around the Chicago area.
    She retired with her husband to Seminole, Florida in 1984. Although she spent the last almost 9 yrs in Dallas, Texas, with her daughter, she claimed Florida as her beloved home.
    A private family gathering will be held at the gravesite at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, Illinois. Charitable donations in Arlouine’s memory may be made to Compassion for Africa, 51105 High Meadow Drive, Granger IN 46530 , whose mission is to birth a new future for abandoned children in East Africa.

    Ludek R. Cerny, age 61 of Westmont, passed away on July 16, 2017. He is a project manager in Commercial Specialty Glass Construction throughout the Chicagoland area. Ludek is the beloved husband of 27 years to Katarina. Loving father of Susan and Kevin Cerny. Beloved son of Mila (George Vitovec) Kopac and Ludek Cerny. Dear cousin of Jana Tuma and David Tuma.     CLARENDON HILLS DANCIN IN THE STREET

    Clarendon Hills Dancin in the Street is a concert series held annually by the Village of Clarendon Hills. The concert series runs in the downtown area on Wednesdays for six weeks beginning mid June to mid July each year. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. Each week food will be provided by different restaurants each week. The beverage tent will be manned by our Special Events Committee Volunteers serving beer and wine.

    Food and beverages will be available starting at 6:30 p.m. with music kicking off at 7 p.m.

    Each year the concert series serves as a community gathering place where families can enjoy the summer and catch up with friends and neighbors. The event, which takes place on Prospect Avenue in downtown Clarendon Hills, also showcases many of the downtown businesses to residents and visitors.

    DIRECTIONS TO WEST SURBURBAN FUNERAL HOME:

    James Dunbar, summoned by God to his eternal home, on Friday July 7, 2017. James “Cooper” Dunbar was born on December 11, 1922 in Woodville, Mississippi. He was born through the union of the late Arthur Dunbar and the late Caroline Stirgus Dunbar. James relocated to Detroit, Michigan at an early age and settled in Chicago, Illinois. James joined the Navy as a Seaman and was honorably discharged in December 1945.
    James leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Donald Forrest of Colorado Springs Colorado; one grandson, David Forrest; two nephews, Carl Spurlock and Clarence Neal of Baton Rouge, LA.; three nieces, Classie Burkes of Woodville, MS., Vera Williams and Luverda Fountain of Baton Rouge, LA., a special friend Jessie Ruth Eckels and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, five brothers, Benjamin Dunbar, Isaiah Willis, Cero Dunbar, Woodrow Dunbar, Arthur “June” Dunbar Jr. and three sisters, Nellie Dunbar Fountain, Manella Dunbar and Cinderella Dunbar.
