Born April 2, 1923, in Chicago, IL., to Patrick and Theresa Kenealy. Beloved wife of the late Richard; loving mother of Donna (Joseph) Buechele and Ronald Nemec. Devoted grandmother of Kimberly (Mark) Holzknecht, Todd (Nikki Wright) Buechele, Patrick Nemec and Melissa (Scott) Gutierrez; dearest grandmother of 9; fond aunt of several nieces and nephews.   3. Kadalise “Kady” Renee Brown

    Kadalise “Kady” Renee Brown, age 9 of Westmont, IL went to be with the Lord December 28, 2018, at home surrounded by family. Kady was born to Randolph C. Brown and Kermina DeJesus, August 1, 2009, in New Hartford NY. Kady enjoyed watching Pup Star on Netflix, playing basketball and listening to music. She had a strong faith and relationship with Christ at an early age. Kady proudly that she would love to become an actress when she grew up. Kady also loved spending time with her aunt’s dog Harley, had a love for unicorns and indulging in cheese fries and milkshakes from Shake Shack. Kady was a 4th grade student at Maercker Elementary School in Westmont. She loved school and all of her teachers. Kady’s memory will be forever cherisheded by her siblings Marquese, Yanalise and Malik, her grandparents Randolph and Susie Brown, Isabella (Papi) Rosado, her aunt Brianna Brown and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.   4. Harold “Hal” Dirienzo


    Harold A. “Hal” Dirienzo,  passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 after his family was able to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at his bedside earlier in the day.  He leaves his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Shabet) Dirienzo; his sons, Thomas (Donna), James, Matthew (Merry), Paul (Carisa); his daughter, Janet Fatheree (Todd); 15 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren; his brother William (Gloria), and many close friends. Born and raised in Clifton, NJ, the son of Michael and Lucy (Bonanno) Dirienzo, he was a resident of Woodridge and Somonauk, IL and spent the last 7 years at Monarch Landing Senior Living Community in Naperville, IL. In his early years, Hal was involved in sports and looked up to his older brother William who served with distinction in the Italian Campaign in WWII.  Between his Junior and Senior year at Clifton High School in 1949 he joined the Army National Guard.  After graduation he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and started work as a chemist for Heyden Chemicals in Garfield, NJ. He met his wife, Patricia Shabet, while recuperating from an appendectomy at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, NJ while she was his attending nurse (he always liked to say, “they met in bed!”) and they were married in 1958 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Jersey City, NJ.  In 1959, he completed officer candidate school and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army National Guard.  He was honorably discharged in 1964 as a 1st lieutenant in the inactive reserve.  In the early 60’s Hal transitioned from the lab to technical sales, and management positions in the plastics industry where he enjoyed a successful career retiring with EVALCA in 1997.  He was an active member in the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE). He not only took pride in his work, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. Over the years, his sales, product, and account management expertise and reputation led him to work as a consultant after retirement. Hal had a passion for his wife, family, and several other interests including baseball (Brooklyn Dodgers, NY Mets, and finally the Chicago Cubs), high school football (watching his sons play at Benet & DG South), photography, 8mm home movies, video (one of first to own a portable 2-piece VHS camera/recorder in the early 80’s). A man of strong Catholic faith, he was a longtime member of St. Joan of Arc in Lisle, IL and St. John the Baptist in Somonauk, IL where he taught Catholic religious education (RCIA) in both parishes.  He served as an officer of the Dad’s Club at Benet Academy during the time his children attended.  He also cherished his opportunities to visit Fatima, Portugal; Lourdes, France; and Assisi & Rome, Italy to visit and lector at the tour masses.     Mario Vito Serritella, age 71, of Westmont, Il, at rest December 11, 2018. Born February 19, 1947 in Italy to Rocco and Lucia Serritella. Mario is survived by his loving wife, beloved children, dear sister and family and numerous cousins.   6. Opal “Penny” Paveglio


    Opal “Penny” Paveglio 86, from Downers Grove, IL passed away peacefully on the eve of November 21, 2018 surrounded by her family and close friends.

    Penny moved to Downers Grove in 1962 where she later sold Sweet Corn and vegetables on our Family’s Farm stand. She also worked at Walgreens Restaurant before retiring.  She loved to take Fishing Trips with her Family and close friends to Leech Lake, MN.  She loved to cook for her family and friends and made the best Biscuits & Gravy, Mostaccioli and her famous Green Beans. She loved playing cards, reading romance novels, gardening and spending time with her dog Teddy and her 2 Grandsons.

    She was born on January 10, 1932 in the small town of Welch, WV to her late parents Artemus and Lona Horn.  She was the wife of the late Carl Ray Paveglio.  Beloved mother of Cheryl (Keith) Cunningham, Michael Paveglio and Judy (Rich) O’Brien, Grandmother of Tyler O’Brien and Jacob Cunningham, Sister of Olen (Virginia) Horn and of the Late Otis (Betty) Horn , Oliver Horn and Aunt of 5.

  7. Clyde “Jack” Simmons

    Jack Simmons, 80, of Oswego, left this planet on Thursday November 22, 2018 while at home.  In lieu of traditional services, an open house and last visitation was held for family and close friends the Saturday prior to his death. A Memorial will be held at a later date. Known as Jack his entire life, Clyde was born in Sterling, IL to Clyde and Margaret Simmons on May 15, 1938. He attended Plano High School in Plano, IL and later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Elementary Education from Aurora University in Aurora, IL. He married Dorothy (nee Harbison) Simmons on December 16, 1961 in Aurora, IL.  Jack was a fifth grade teacher at Coal City Elementary School for two years before working at East View Elementary School in Oswego, IL, where he eventually retired after 27 years as fifth grade teacher. He lived his life as an educator, audiophile and self-acclaimed pundit. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and his family.  Jack is preceded in death by his father, Clyde Simmons and his mother Margaret Simmons, both of Medford, Oregon. Jack is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son Bruce (Cheryl nee Brown) Simmons; granddaughter Chynna (Mike) Buda; grandson Phoenix Simmons; brother Sid (Carol) Simmons; and sister India Simmons.
