William C. Shreves, 90 years old, of Downers Grove passed away on Thursday, February 5th, 2026 surrounded by his family. William, “Bill”, was the loving and cherished husband to Judith (nee Blankley). Beloved son to the late Gladstone and Treva (nee Long). Cherished brother to the late Elsie (Bill) Wilson of Xenia, Ohio and the late Virginia (Dave) Hinders of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Proud father to Mark Shreves, Doug (Sandy) Shreves & Beth (John) Williams.  Proud grandfather and great grandfather to Amy (Charlie) Buteyn, Sara (Matt) Tokarz, Kim (David) Fruits, Emma Williams (Marty Knuth), Timothy (LuLu) Shreves, Anna (Hunter) Thomasson, Carly, Mason, Charlotte, Olivia, Ellis, Carter, Ella, Arlen, Bauer, Bennett. Bill was a proud uncle to many nieces and a nephew.

Bill enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family, especially his great grand babies. He took special interest in airplanes and history. He loved reading and talking about his life in Ohio, New Orleans, and Downers Grove.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60517. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
