Therese Dvorak

Therese Dvorak nee Dalpiaz, age 89, at rest March 15, 2024. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend. Therese was a long-time Westchester resident and enjoyed her final years at Bethlehem Woods Retirement Community in LaGrange Park, IL.

Born October 1, 1934, to the late Firmin and Gelinda (Rauzi) Dalpiaz of Melrose Park, IL. She was married for 61 years to her beloved husband, Dick, who preceded her in death. Devoted mother to Mary Beth (Ken) Sobolewski, Tom (Ann) Dvorak, Dave Dvorak, and Linda Gilbert; Proud grandmother to Kristen (John) Corrigan, Mike (Brooke) Sobolewski, Dave (Molly) Sobolewski, Danny and Annie Sobolewski, Lauren and Lucas Dvorak, Caroline and Caitlyn Gilbert; Overjoyed great-grandmother to Emily, Austin and Connor Corrigan; Dearest sister of the late Fr. Gino Dalpiaz, C.S., the late Mary (the late Bob) Baroni, the late Julius (Lorraine) Dalpiaz, Fr. Alex Dalpiaz, C.S., Angie (Ernie) Ruffolo, Gemma (Ron) Winters, Rose (Bill) Scalise, Joe (Carolyn) Dalpiaz, and Ann (George) Hicks. Loving sister-in-law of the late Corrinne (Tony) Sprenger, Robert (Barbara) Dvorak, Alice Dvorak, John (Sandi) Dvorak and Elizabeth (Jim) Munger. Fond aunt and friend to so many, and forever indebted to her loving caregivers.

Therese will always be remembered for her unshakable devotion to God, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and St. Therese of Lisieux. She was known for her servant’s heart in caring for others. She was immensely proud to be part of her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren’s lives and activities. She was a true supporter of autism research in support of her youngest granddaughter. Therese could always be enticed into a good game of Gin Rummy or a round of Bingo.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Therese’s life on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 820 Division Street, Lisle, IL., beginning with a visitation/viewing at 10:30 a.m. and followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. She will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery (Hillside) where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. A luncheon in celebration of her long life well-lived will follow.
