Robert John Thoreson, age 76, at rest October 17, 2018 at his home in Berkeley, IL. Proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Beloved husband of Brigitte nee Adelmann; loving father of Michael (Tina) Nesbitt, Jeff (Sue), Paul (Therese), and Lisa (Joe) Thoreson, Stephanie Cook, Heidi Cervantes and Roy (Adriana) Cook; devoted grandfather of 17, great grandfather of 4; dearest brother of Susan Spiegel; dear uncle of James. I miss you so much Dad; I can’t believe your gone. I will always remember our yearly camping trips. I loved hanging out by the campfire talking about everything, boating down the river; especially that time it rained on us! I still laugh at us making fun of the old people that used to stare at us. As I got older, we stopped going. I wish we could have gone one more time. I got my love for the outdoors from you, and I Thank You for that, and everything else you have given and done for me. It was hard not to see you all the time, but I will treasure the times we did have together. I wish I could have gotten to know your side of the family more, but I’m glad I got to know Aunt Sue and especially Jaime. It was hard to watch you go, but I’m glad your at peace and not suffering anymore.
