Paula Rocque
Paula Rocque (née Bottorff), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful friend, passed away surrounded by the love of those whose lives she so deeply touched.
Born on April 11, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles and Norma Bottorff, Paula spent her childhood in Ohio, Michigan, Texas, and suburban Chicago. No matter where life took her, she was known for her intelligence, kindness, and the friendships she cultivated with ease. After attending Indiana University, she began her career at Havi Corporation in Westmont, Illinois, where she led the data processing department of one division
While at Havi, Paula met Gregory Rocque and their love story spanned continents. After Greg’s assignment to Southeast Asia, the two married on February 11, 1983, and immediately began their life together in Singapore. Their journey continued through Hong Kong, where they welcomed their son, Bradley, before returning to the United States and completing their family with the birth of their daughter, Stacey.
Paula’s greatest calling was her faith in Jesus Christ and the people God placed in her path. For nearly two decades, she poured herself into serving others through her church, leading Bible Study Fellowship groups, organizing summer camps, opening her home to children’s ministry, and traveling on mission trips around the world. She had an extraordinary gift for making every person feel seen, valued, and loved, and she faithfully walked alongside countless individuals during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives.
In 2021, Paula and Greg retired to Fort Myers, Florida, where they built a wonderful community of cherished friends at their church and yacht club. Whether welcoming new neighbors, celebrating life’s joys, or offering comfort in times of hardship, Paula’s warmth, generosity, infectious sense of fun, and unwavering compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband of more than 43 years, Gregory Rocque; her children, Bradley Rocque, Andrea Rocque (nee Hradek), Phillip Orcutt, and Stacey Orcutt (nee Rocque); her sister, Elizabeth Jeanne Wheelock; and her three treasured grandchildren, Jackson Scott Rocque, Jay Gregory Orcutt, and Aria Leigh Rocque.
Though her family grieves the loss of her earthly presence, they rejoice in the assurance that Paula is now in the presence of the Savior she loved and served so faithfully. Her legacy of steadfast faith, joyful generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the countless lives she inspired. Private family interment. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
