Kenneth Myers
Kenneth Robert “Ken” Myers passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Naperville, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer and heart failure.
Ken was born February 6, 1961, in Oak Park, Illinois, to the late Otis and Delores Myers. He met the love of his life, Sandy, when they were teenagers, and together they built a full and happy family, surrounded by great food, the amazing company of friends and family, and adventures.
For 39 years, Ken worked as a claims adjuster for Assurant, where his steady hand and willingness to help anyone, no matter the ask, earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike. That same generosity defined him at home. He was a skilled and tireless hand with home renovations, always ready to help family and friends with a project, and he had a rare gift for people: he could meet someone once and, years later, they would still remember him.
Ken’s love language was cooking. He planned his menus days in advance, sometimes just one, and there was almost nothing he wouldn’t try. He never let anyone go without: he would cook several meals at a time, and some nights he made two or three different dinners just to make sure everyone at the table had a hot meal they would enjoy, whether that meant working around allergies, vegetarians, gluten-free diets, or the pickiest of eaters. More than a few people told him he needed to open a small place of his own so he could share that love with the world. Anyone lucky enough to sit at his table already knew what they meant.
Beyond his family, Ken’s two greatest loves were Walt Disney World and the Chicago Bears. He and Sandy visited Disney as often as they could, but his favorite trips were the ones he took with his grandsons. Even while fighting cancer, he made those trips happen because he wanted the boys to have good memories and to start a love of Disney of their own.
To Liam and Luke, he was “Grandpa” or simply “Pa,” and he loved those boys with all his heart.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Sandy; his son, Robert William Myers, and wife Amanda (Leonard) Myers; his grandsons, Liam Robert Myers and Luke Kenneth Myers; his stepsons, Matthew Dambrogio and wife Melanie (Menchaca) Dambrogio, Steven Dambrogio, and Thomas Dambrogio; his brother, Steven Myers, and wife Paula; his sister, Barbara LeCompte, and husband Keith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were lucky to know him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Delores.
