Jamie Irene Jones (nee Humphrey) passed away gracefully on 08/14/2026 @ 12:42am in her Woodridge home surrounded by family after a 10 year journey with breast cancer. Up until the end, Jamie maintained her kindness, appreciation, loyalty and love for many family members and friends. She had such a big heart. Though she was a quiet type, once she connected with someone, it was hard to keep her quiet and she loved to laugh. She was always the best advocate for herself and her children when it came to schools and doctors.
Beloved wife of David, devoted daughter of Vera Humphrey (nee Chymka) and James Humphrey; loving mother of Nicholas, Emma, Irena, Michaela and her fur babies Ruby and Spice (2017); dearest Sister of Michelle (George) Bukowski and Beth (Eric) Schneider; fond aunt, great aunt and family member of many.
Jamie loved going out to different restaurants and spending time with the people she loved. She had a huge sweet tooth and especially loved cookies and brownies. She found joy in the simple things in life and in making memories with her family and friends. Those memories, along with her love and laughter, will remain in our hearts forever.
Visitation Friday August 21, 2026 from 4-8 P.M. at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. Visitation Saturday August 22 from 10 -11 A.M. followed by an 11 A.M. Funeral Service at Trinity Lutheran Church 1101 Kimberly Way, Lisle. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. A tree will be planted in Jamie’s memory through the Woodridge Park District Memorial Tree Program. I am glad she is not battling anymore. Vera has had our family’s prayer support on this for years and God does not leave us alone through these times of loss. Continue to cling to Jesus during this time – I promise he wants to shoulder that burden and weep alongside you.
