Casey was a life long friend. We grew up together as next door neighbors in Downers Grove. We went to grade school and high school together. A day didn’t go by without seeing Casey. A great guy and a friend to all. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. Jimmy was a wonderful man. When we would come into town to visit, he was always the first one to drop by to visit. He always included me in whatever his family was doing. It usually involved a sporting event of some kind. Usually a White Sox game—or two. Precious memories! Hugs to Jamie, Jeff, and Mindy. I hope that the memories you made with him will comfort you. Godspeed Jimmy.
Jim was my first baseball coach with Mr. Warren. That’s where I first met Jamie, too.
Later, while coaching my daughter’s softball team, he was our umpire. I’ll never forget the day I noticed it was Jim. He was telling our girls to tuck in their uniform shirts, etc. when I recognized his voice. I felt like a little kid again. My daughter proceeded to ask him “what is your strike zone?” I was appalled. Then Jim said, “from your nose to your toes and pole to pole” I apologized to him, like Oh My God, I’m sorry she asked you that. We continued to see each other regularly at the ball fields and I felt very proud to know hom amd to be his friend. I am sorry and saddened to hear of his passing. May Jamie amd all Jim’s family find peace in his eternal rest in Heaven.
