Harold Zedler, 92, of Westchester, at rest September 26, 2022, United States Army Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Vincenza “Vinnie” (nee Serritella); loving father of the late John Carl; devoted son of the late Emil and Emma Zedler; dearest brother of Lorraine Heyart; dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday September 29, 2022 from 9-11 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church 2317 S. Wolf Road, Westchester followed by Funeral services at 11 A.M. at the Church. Harold and my dad, Herbert Clauson, had been friends since grammar school. They kept in touch during all the years since. I have fond memories of Harold and Vinnie visiting with my parents when I was a child. I remember him getting us kids laughing – we always knew him as a fun “uncle.” After they both retired, my dad and Harold would do a fishing trip at least once a year. They always had a lot of fun, and who knows how many fish they actually caught? The fish stories were always wonderful and they sure had some great adventures chasing the walleyes all over the upper midwest. They had both lost sons and wives, and were able to help each other through the grief. They were both great letter writers and my dad loved hearing from Harold. I know my dad misses him, they spoke on the phone often. Rest in peace “Uncle Harold” – you were a wonderful friend to my dad!
