Gary L. Johnson, 78, longtime Westmont resident, at rest March 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 22, 1944 in Carrollton, IL to Lowell and Mary Belle (nee Faye) Johnson. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Picl); loving father of David (Deborah), Derrick and Sylvia Johnson; devoted grandfather of Jason Johnson, Amber Roberts, Carissa (Chris) McCarty, Kristen (Dan) Cowen, Jacqulyn Johnson and Brian (Stephanie) Tracy; dearest great grandfather of Carson, Paisley Mae, Journey, Creedon and Stella; dear brother and uncle. Gary was a devoted Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed golfing and darts. Memorial Visitation Wednesday 4:00-6:30 P.M. with services to follow at 6:30 P.M. at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. Gary was my older brothers father. He was alway so loving and kind to me when I was younger. I always admired and inspired to be the type of parent he was to his sons. He was very close to them and alway wanted them to do great! I can say for a fact that if my brothers ever needed their dad he was always there!! He was truly a great guy!! Sending a huge amount of love to my brothers, Gary’s wife, Linda, and their daughter.. as well as the grandchildren and great grandchildren he was so very blessed to have! I’m in shock ocer this. He was such a great dad to his kids.. in my opinion. He will be missed!
