Donald C. Heffernan, 67 of Westmont, Illinois, quietly passed away in his home on June 15, 2026.

Don, a lifelong resident of Westmont, graduated from College of DuPage. A deep passion for nature inspired him to open Kindness Landscaping. His favorite hobbies included fishing and biking, but especially cruising around town with his faithful, canine pal, Scoobie. Donny was blessed with the friendship and support of many.  He expanded his family by including a plethora of remarkable people in his life. Traveling the United States was a dream he achieved. He especially loved water travel: streams, creeks, rivers. A faithful Christian with great admiration and respect for Native American culture, known for his kindness, loved by many, Don will be greatly missed.

Beloved son of the late Daniel and Joan (nee Lawlor) Heffernan; brothers James and Michael, and nephew, John Kusnierz. Loving brother of Daniel (Donna Owens), Lorraine Kusnierz (William), Mary Kay (Michael Teegen), Gerald (Cheri Mershon), John (Kim Bui), Kenneth, Thomas and Martin. Dear uncle of Colleen Heffernan, Erin Heffernan Brown, Christopher Kusnierz, Shannon Heffernan, Danielle Heffernan, many great-nieces, great-nephews, a multitude of Heffernan and Lawlor cousins, and closest friend, Mary Cordero.
