Charlotte June Watkins (Sanson) August 26, 1935 – May 20, 2026 Charlotte passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, reuniting in heaven with the love of her life, Randy. Charlotte was born in Greenfield, IL on August 26, 1935 to Gerald Dean and Freida Fern Sanson. She leaves behind her loving children, Gay Dene Watkins (David), Bradley Watkins and Tara Urbanski (Mike) “Granny,” as she loved to be called, was a proud and devoted grandmother to William “Buck”, Cale (Kayla), Kirker, Ellie, and Mikey. She cherished her bonus grandchildren, Daniel and Lauren and was overjoyed to become “Great Granny” to Truett, the son of Cale and Kayla. Oldest of four, Charlotte is survived by her loving siblings, Charles Sanson, Gregory Sanson, and Ginger Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Char lived life with energy, grace and style. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength and the beautiful way she made everyone feel welcomed and loved. Her legacy lives on through family and friends fortunate enough to have known her. Charlotte’s remains will be at her final resting place, Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
The Celebration of Life will be at Mayslake Village  Our Lady’s Chapel 1801 35th St., Oak Brook, IL at 10:00 AM, on August 15th. In lieu of flowers,contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on behalf of her grandchildren or the American Heart Association. Thank you on behalf of our family.
