Deborah Sarno (nee Pozzie), 70, of Woodridge, at rest October 3, 2026. Born July 12, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Edward Sr. and Joanne Pozzie. Beloved wife of John; loving mother of Lisa and Teresa Sarno; devoted grandmother of Alexis Frey, Nicolas and Marissa; dearest sister of Edward Jr. (Stephanie) Pozzie and the late Michael Sr. and Douglas Pozzie; fond aunt of several nieces and nephews.
She was the heart of our family. Family was everything to her, and she was the glue that held us all together. She had a way of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her family was her greatest joy, and there was nothing she loved more than having the people she loved close to her.
Being a Nana was one of the greatest joys of her life, and she absolutely adored her granddaughter, Alexis. Their bond was incredibly special. She loved watching Alexis grow, spending time with her, and being part of all the little moments that made their relationship so meaningful. Alexis brought a special kind of happiness to her life, and it was easy to see just how proud she was of her granddaughter and how deeply she loved her.
She also found so much joy in her hobbies, especially crafting. She could spend hours working on crafts and projects, and her basement, filled with all of her supplies, was almost like a world of its own. She could always find another project to start, another idea to try, or something special she wanted to make for someone she loved. And somehow, the things she created became more than just crafts—they became little pieces of her that we can hold onto.
She gave us a lifetime of memories and a love that will never leave us. We will carry her with us in the traditions she created, the things she taught us, the stories we tell, and in the love we continue to give one another. In all of those things, a part of her will always remain with us.
