Clifton Hendricks
Clifton Hendricks, Jr., age 80, formerly of Oak Lawn, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Cliff is survived by his children, Colleen (Walter) Urroz, Maureen (Josh) Schreck, Bill Hendricks; their mother, Rita Hendricks; and grandson Christian (Norris) Jados.
Born on the south side of Chicago, Cliff moved to El Monte, California, as a young boy, spending his teenage years soaking up the southern California sun. He loved reminiscing about those days—especially hitchhiking down Beach Boulevard to Huntington Beach, where he would swim in the ocean until the sun went down.
Following his youth in California, Cliff proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Klondike. His service took him across the globe, with fond memories of visiting Subic Bay in the Philippines, Japan, and the Aleutian Islands. After completing his service, he spent a short time back in southern California before ultimately returning to Chicago, where he set down roots.
During his working years, Cliff built a successful career as an accomplished salesman in the auto industry, earning a well-deserved reputation for being one of the best.
Outside of work, Cliff had simple pleasures that brought him immense joy. He loved a good pizza and a cold beer. A devoted fan of the Chicago Bears, Cliff was also a true South Sider at heart; he supported the Chicago White Sox and cherished the memory of taking his kids to their very first game at old Comiskey Park with tickets he earned through winning a sales contest at work.
Cliff will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and those who knew and loved him.
