James Dunbar
James Dunbar, summoned by God to his eternal home, on Friday July 7, 2017. James “Cooper” Dunbar was born on December 11, 1922 in Woodville, Mississippi. He was born through the union of the late Arthur Dunbar and the late Caroline Stirgus Dunbar. James relocated to Detroit, Michigan at an early age and settled in Chicago, Illinois. James joined the Navy as a Seaman and was honorably discharged in December 1945.
James leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Donald Forrest of Colorado Springs Colorado; one grandson, David Forrest; two nephews, Carl Spurlock and Clarence Neal of Baton Rouge, LA.; three nieces, Classie Burkes of Woodville, MS., Vera Williams and Luverda Fountain of Baton Rouge, LA., a special friend Jessie Ruth Eckels and a host of other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, five brothers, Benjamin Dunbar, Isaiah Willis, Cero Dunbar, Woodrow Dunbar, Arthur “June” Dunbar Jr. and three sisters, Nellie Dunbar Fountain, Manella Dunbar and Cinderella Dunbar.
