Thomas Wayne Rietz, 73, of Plainfield, at rest December 18, 2023. Proudly served his country as sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Born November 8, 1950 in Hinsdale, IL to James and Evelyn Rietz. Beloved father of Jennifer Malone, Hannah Appolon and Thomas; dear grandfather of Angelie, Diesel, Fritz Jr., Elijah and Omari. Tom was a lover of music. He played guitar and bass and went to an open mic night at Kitty’s for the past several decades. Tom played in his own band, At The Moment along with many other bands and has albums out on Spotify. It is rumored he played alongside Blues musician and Illinois local, Muddy Waters. Visitation Wednesday December 27, 2023 from 10-12 P.M. followed by funeral services at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove.
