Shirley Lou Williams (nee Kowell), 78, of Downers Grove, at rest July 27, 2025. Born November 26, 1946 in Melrose Park, IL to Lou and Nada Kowell. Beloved wife of 56 years to James “Jim” Williams; loving sister to Sharon L. (Gene) Whitehorn and the late Margaret Slater Purvis; dearest aunt of Jason Slater and Steven (Tracy) Slater; dear great aunt of Bryce. Shirley was employed with the Social security Administration for many years. She enjoyed traveling with Jim, sewing, quilting and  gardening, especially her flowers. Memorial Visitation Sunday August 3, 2025 from 2-5 P.M. at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home 4920 Main St., Downers Grove.
