Robert Erwin Rocque

Robert Erwin Rocque, born March 7, 1933 passed away peacefully on January 8, 2024.

Bob was the son of Arthur and Lena Rocque, born and raised in Berwyn, IL. Bob was preceded in death by his lovely wife and lifelong partner Vivian, who died in January 2023. Bob is survived by his sons Gregory Rocque (Paula), Robert A. G. Rocque (Ivona) and daughter Beverly Fewster, his grandchildren Brad Rocque (Andrea), Stacey Orcutt (Phillip), Kiley Marra (Brett), Connor Fewster (Lauren Lockard), Alexander Rocque and Robert J. Rocque, sister-in-law Lynne Lichner, many nieces and nephews and his two great grandsons Jackson Scott Rocque and Jay Gregory Orcutt.

Bob graduated from Morton West High School in 1951 and started working at Western Electric before serving in the Army, stationed in Germany.  He and Vivian met at Western Electric when Bob returned from the service and were married less than a year later on April 13, 1957.  Gregory was born in 1959, Robert was born in 1961 and Beverly was born in 1964.  Bob was an amazing husband, son, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Over the course of his career, Bob was a salesman for Campbell Soup Co.  Later, he was a manager for Eisner’s in Champaign, IL, followed by being General Manager for Food Marketers, a division of Beatrice Foods.  From there, he co-founded Havi Corporation which became a global supplier to McDonald’s.  Havi was sold to Staley Continental in 1986 where Bob became the President of Continental Foods.  Bob retired from Staley Continental in 1988.  He went on to be a private investor in other local businesses such as Car Care Enterprises, Madeleine and Love’s Yogurt.

Bob & Vivian loved family, friends and travel.  By way of trains, planes, ships or automobiles, they put their footprints all over the world, and they especially enjoyed fishing.  They finally settled full-time in Naples FL in 2014.

The family will have a small private service and interment in the spring of 2024.
