Mario N. Casolaro
Mario N. Casolaro, 96, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Las Vegas, at rest November 12, 2025. Born December 27, 1928, in Chicago to Francesco and Antonietta (nee Francolino) Casolaro. Beloved husband of the late Gloria E. (nee Fillippini); loving father of Mario (Natasha), Richard (Norma), Daniel (Margie) and Janine; devoted grandfather of Melissa, Brian, Ricky, Curtis, and Dominic; dearest great grandfather of Elena, Riley, Giovanni, Apollo, Atlas and Liam; dear brother of Carmella. Mario was a devoted husband, loving father and dedicated provider. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He treated everyone with respect and was kind, adored, forgiving and patient. His wisdom, warmth and laughter touched all generations of his family. Mario proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces from 1950-1953 during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years at the Chicago Tribune as an engraver and later was a self employed sign painter. Inurnment and military honors will take place in the Spring of 2026 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Please check back for further details.
