Linda Ann Breslin

February 03, 2025

Linda Breslin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, at the age of 73, with her son, Colin, by her side.  Linda’s journey began in Downers Grove, Illinois, and throughout her life, she found joy in the beauty of nature, the mountains of Colorado, and the love of her family.

She spent her early years in Downers Grove before moving to Colorado, where she developed a deep love for the outdoors, particularly the mountains and river trails. Linda later moved back to Illinois to be closer to her family, with whom she shared many cherished memories. She demonstrated resilience and strength facing many health struggles over the last decade.

Linda was a proud and loving mother to her son, Colin Breslin (wife Tara), and a doting grandmother to Grace and Ellie. Her affection for her granddaughters was immeasurable, and they brought an incredible light and happiness to her life. Linda’s playful nature earned her the affectionate nickname “Mama Llama” from Colin and Tara, which transformed to “Grand Llama” once she became a grandmother.

She was known for her silly, vibrant personality, and for the love she shared with everyone around her. In her downtime, she loved playing games on her iPad, especially spider solitaire, and was an avid fan of crime shows and playing Bingo. She loved going out for breakfast with family and friends, and ordering Chinese take-out for dinner. Travel also brought her joy, as did spending time with those she loved.

Linda was predeceased by her beloved son, Joel Breslin; her brother, Peter Nisius; and her parents, Norma and Al Nisius. She is survived by her son, Colin, his wife Tara, granddaughters Grace and Ellie, and her sister Sharon Nisius.

Linda will be remembered for her kindness, loving spirit, and resilience. She had a heart full of love, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

To honor Linda’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. A private family remembrance will take place to honor Linda at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home, 39 N Cass Ave. Westmont, IL 60559.
