Laura D. Picerno
Laura D. Picerno, 85, of Oak Brook, IL, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 30, 2020. Laura was born in Chicago, IL on March 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Oscar L. and Mary C. Blair. On March 26, 1951, she married the love of her life, the late Charles Picerno, to whom she was married for 55 years.
Beloved mother of Carol (Norbert) Nendza, Michael (Christine Arias) Picerno, Christine (Vincent) Miseo, and Mary Lou (James Reformat) Picerno; lovingĀ grandmother of Steven (Darcy Davis) Nendza, Robert (Maia Grabb) Nendza, Elizabeth (Eric Nathanson) Miseo, Vincent Miseo, Charles (Gabriela Jumbo) Miseo, Lisa (David) Shrewsbury, Giulianna Miseo, Danielle and Christopher Picerno; devoted great grandmother of Joseph, Jacob, Benjamin and Matthew Nendza, Cecilia and Henry Nathanson; dear sister of Elizabeth (Robert) Stogner and the late Richard (Jean Ebert) Blair; fond sister-in-law of Mary Lou (the late Sam) Carava and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Laura had a generous heart and was a strong-willed woman who had a full life. She was a wonderful wife, amazing mother, loving grandmother and supportive friend, who will always be remembered for her smile, unwavering love and generosity for all; she will be truly missed by all who had an opportunity to know her. Laura earned B.A. from Elmhurst College and M.A. from National College of Education. She was an elementary school teacherĀ and reading specialist for 30 years for the Villa Park District 45 school system.
