Keith Rowe
Keith Rowe, 68, at rest March 5, 2024. Born November 2, 1955 in Chicago, IL to Kenneth and Dorothea (nee Waller) Rowe. Loving father of Brandon, Kristie and Kyle; dearest brother of Stephen and the late David (the late Diane); dearest uncle of Andrea (Jef) Gertsen, Courtney (Mike) Denk, Sara and Shauna; fond great uncle of several nieces and nephews. Keith was a proud graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in engineering. His business card labeled him as a Communications Engineer. A few years after graduation from the University of Illinois, he and some colleagues formed a company in Cincinnati, which developed technology, that included some used by NASA in space missions.
Keith, being a former boy scout, naturally was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping and hiking. Prior to having his own children, he volunteered as a big brother in Cincinnati with the Boys and Girls Club. He loved giving big hugs and nurtured his longtime relationships with friends dating back to his junior high days and was able to rekindle these friendships during his 50 year high school reunion in the fall of 2023. He enjoyed rooting for his favorite college football and basketball teams which included Illinois and Cincinnati. Keith was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had many cherished friends within the fellowship.

Keith was a soft-spoken man who struggled mightily and persevered heroically for many years. He loved family and friends and was always available for an Illini discussion or debate during any of their sport seasons. Keith gave generously without recognition to many people and organizations to try and help somebody else. He was a man among men and will be greatly missed.
Keith was a great man and friend to many; I feel blessed to be counted among them. While he struggled in some areas, he certainly excelled in others. Keith would silently help countless people without telling anyone, a lost trait in the world today.
He had a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, a passion for his beloved Illini teams, an available ear, and a yearning for the sanctity and beauty of the mountains and streams.
Keith was a great friends and will be missed.
I love you always. I am so proud to be your daughter. I’m at peace( that you are finally at peace). I will make you proud dad.
