Kathy Jean Hoppe (nee Johnson), 69 years old, of Downers Grove, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, after a courageous multi-year battle with pulmonary arterial hypertension. Kathy was the loving and cherished mother of Jennifer (Anthony) Becker, Janice (Jacob) Spiers, Kelley (Marcin) Platek, and Gordon (Samantha) Hoppe, Jr. Devoted grandmother to Alexia Hoppe, Lukas, Emma, and Nikolas Platek, Mason Becker, and Alaina Wohlfeil. Beloved sister to Rick (Carol) Johnson. Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved parents Billy & Joan Johnson.

Kathy was an avid reader and green thumb, but above all, a mother – steady, selfless, and full of quiet strength that shaped the lives of everyone she touched. Her memory lives on through her children and grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27^th, 2026, at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60515 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm, with chapel services to commence at 7:00pm.
