Kathleen “Katie” Gunderson (nee Russell), 56, of Woodridge, at rest, suddenly, August 31, 2024. Katie was born May 15, 1968 in Hinsdale, IL to John and Carol Russell. Beloved wife of Roger; loving mother of Ryan, Kaitlin (Holden) Sparks, Kyle (fiancee’ Jasmine) and Alyssa Gunderson; dearest sister of Michael, Tommy, Jack Russell, Patty Decker and Steve Russell; cherished lifelong friend of Sandy Bazeluk; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Katie was a passionate volleyball player and avid supporter. She was a hugely dedicated soccer and sports mom. Katie was a stem cell donor for her brother Steve.
