She is the best Grandma in the world and I will remember her fondly for the rest of my life. Praying her soul is in a beautiful place💓 She is wonderful inside and out and I always admire her. She will be forever missed. My sweet Grandma. I love her endlessly.
Thanks Audrey!!!!
I am Patricia (Patti), the fourth youngest of the sisters, and the same with all ten of my siblings. I look the most like my mom, especially in the eyes. The eyes truly are the window to the soul. They carry the secrets and the truths of a human being. Our mother was a lovely human being, and she truly loved all of her children and had a special loving bond with each one of us. Her love for us will continue until the end of time. Until we meet again, mom, know that I was always happy to call you my mom, and I can’t wait to hug and kiss you again someday. Siempre te buscaré para que me guíes- Patti 🥰❤️
Thanks Patty!!!!
I have such fond memories of my grandmother. She was beautiful and when I was little I thought she must have been a movie star in Mexico. At times when I would lay next to her at bedtime (when I was in kindergarten and attending the school she taught at) I liked to hold her hand. She felt safe to me and in the mornings she would make scrambled eggs. She worked hard for her family and she always stood up while she ate. Maybe that way it was quicker to get something someone needed. She was always checking on everyone. I hope she felt that concern and attention and love was returned to her. We enjoyed her cooking and she had a really good sense of humor. My aunts were always making her laugh. That made me happy. She laughed a lot and I remember a song we would listen to together. It was not a Spanish song. It was Into the Mystic by Van Morrison. I’ve listened to it a few times since her passing and now it’s bittersweet. It used to be just sweet.
I know you will rest above the clouds with those you loved so much while here on earth together. Those that have passed on before you, grandma, will be so happy to see you. But, we will grieve and just simply hope we can all make you proud down here, honoring you forever and always. Thank you for your dedication, love and years of devotion and hard work. I hope you always knew how much we all admired you. We always think we have more time than we actually do to tell the people we love that we love them. Rest in eternal peace. Thank you to those who cared for her in her final days and spent time at her side.
Thanks Jamyn!!!!!
Happy Birthday Mama! I had an unbelievable dream this morning some time between 5 am and 7 am. I was watching you in a restaurant window and you were sitting at a small table with Hillary Clinton chatting away. I was thinking 🤔 in the dream “I didn’t know Ma knew Hillary Clinton!” Then Hillary Clinton was talking to me and said your mother’s hungry….she wants white castle 🏰 and I thought 💬 “Ma doesn’t like white castle!” Then this dream on her birthday ended and I’ll never forget it just like I’ll never forget my beautiful Mama!!!!!!
At her beautiful funeral service I wanted to stand up and just say that I wish I could have told her over the years and decades how much I love her! I know that she knew it without it being said.
Way back in the mid 60’s our Mother worked at Cherry Electric Company doing production work… building switches. Every year, she always made the bonus to her checks by going above the quantity of completed switches. She always used her checks and bonus to make sure that our family had what we needed including beautiful Christmas times their in Eastwood Avenue!
Then years later….she worked as a teacher’s aid at Waukegan School District 30 with grade school children. Over the years she would see some of the students, but older and they loved her!
In the last couple of decades of her life…..she loved walking to Bevier Park and walking around the pond 4 or 5 times, then heading home.
She led a good and rich life and raised her children as best as you could expect any mother to!!!!! She was a great wife to our father, Juan Manuel Flores that passed away on February of 1988.
Mama is in Heaven!!!!!!!
May God keep us all in the Palm of His Hand until we all meet again!!!!!
That’s a beautiful tribute Mark. May mama rest in eternal peace and be surrounded by her loved ones ❤️ 🙏 💕
Thanks 🙏 Patty!!!!
What can I help you with?
Happy Mother’s Day!!! Sunday, May 12th, 2024.
In Loving Memory of Juanita Flores Lara.
“SAFELY HOME”
I am home in Heaven dear ones:
Oh, so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last!
There is work still waiting for You,
So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remains—–
You shall rest in God’s own land.
When that work is all completed,
He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting,
Oh, the joy to see you come!
