Jonathan Kelly Sanchez
Jonathan Kelly Sanchez passed away at his home in Lisle, IL on November 24, 2025, at the age of 48. Jonathan, who was a graduate of Westmont High School, started his career as a shipping manager for a company founded in 1987 called DVDNow. The company independently operated DVD rental kiosks. During Jonathan’s 22-year tenor with the company he rose to the position of Vice President of Operations. Jonathan helped the company account for 62 percent of the U.S. movie rental orders providing a convenient way to rent the hottest DVD’s.
While working up the ladder in his new profession he would make time to visit his brother Adam, who was serving in the United States Marine Corps, at every base Adam was at every year on their birthday.
Jonathan was an avid bowler like his father, the late Matias Sanchez, walking in his footsteps and taking strides to move to his level as well as push each other to better one another. Jonathan, like his father, bowled multiple 300 perfect games and several 295 game awards. Jonathan, for two years, bowled with the Professional Bowlers Association. Prior to that Jonathan competed in numerous Amateur Bowler Tournaments and placed first in several of those competitions. In 2011 Jonathan became a proud Uncle to his nephew Logan and in 2014 his niece came into the picture. Jonathan’s philosophy of “Family First” could not shine brighter as he accepted the role as both of their Godfather. Whenever he could Jon would spend as much time as possible with his two “minions.” At one point Jon had an option to take a regional role company stationed in Hawaii but decided to turn down the opportunity as he made it a point to spend as much time as possible with family.
Jonathan is survived by his brother Adam, nephew Logan, and niece Emily. He is reunited in heaven with his parents Matias Sanchez Jr. and Wanda J. Sanchez and his brother Matthew Guy Sanchez.
Jonathan’s family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
