John Grek, 89, longtime resident of Westmont, at rest January 11, 2025. Born April 24, 1935 in Chicago, IL to John and Marie Grek. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Cerza); loving father of Jeanne (Bob) Rossom, John (Chrissi), Rick (Diane), Joseph (Denise Stackowicz) and the late Jenni (Jim) Hunt and the late Jim (Concetta); devoted grandfather of Jillian, Charissa, John Jr., Ian, Lindsey, Nicholas, Gina and Anthony; fond uncle of nieces and nephews. John was a diehard Cub fan and enjoyed muskie fishing and painting. He was also very active in Westmont youth sports. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
