Gianfranco “John” Giuntoli, 89, of Lisle, at rest March 2, 2026. Born September 19, 1936 in Italy to Ulisse and Ginetta Giuntoli. Beloved husband of Lita (nee Pellegrini) for 70 years; loving father of Pamela (the late James) Viverito, Michael John (Debra) Giuntoli, Maria (Mike) Fisher and Paula (Bruce) Kallberg; dearest nonno of Phillip Viverito (Lea), Nina Viverito (Francisco), Eric Giuntoli, Alana (Brian) Polston, Brant and Cammy Fisher, Chloe and Clarise Kallberg and the late Carly; dear great grandfather of Malia and Lorenzo; fond uncle/tato of many nieces and nephews.
Gianfranco loved his family more than anything. If spending time with his family was a choice, he would choose it every time. After his beloved home, Italy was his favorite place to spend time. He especially loved when his family would join him on his Italian excursions. He even celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary in Italy. Vacationing anywhere other than Italy was never going to happen, or so we thought, until he heard all the kids and grandkids were renting a beach house together. No way he was missing that. And you know what? He always talked about that vacation as being one of his favorites. He was an engineer with the same company for 42 years until his retirement. Nobody stays with one company anymore. He loved gardening , starting tomatoes from seeds before transplanting them to his elaborate garden. For some reason, he liked to start all his plants from seed. Gianfranco was old school that way. He loved doing crossword puzzles daily. In later years, in addition to crossword puzzles he added computer solitaire to his gaming repertoire. He loved his wine, making sure to have at least 2 glasses a day. Going out to eat was another joy in his life. Anytime we could make him happy by dining out, andnot cooking, was a joy for us too.He would be celebrating his 70th wedding anniversary this July. Gianfranco adored Lita, his amore. If he could have taken his beloved moglie (wife) to heaven with him, he would have.
