Frank J. Morini, 85, of Downers Grove, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was the devoted husband of Diane (Frait), sharing 61 cherished years together. Born to Josephine (Lesniak) and Michael Morini, he faced the early loss of his mother. In time, his father remarried Evelyn, his loving stepmother. Frank grew up in the Grant Works neighborhood of Cicero. He was a brother to MaryAnn and Rena, and his late siblings Virginia, Dennis and Eda.
He is survived by: wife, Diane; children: Nicholas (Pam), Anthony (Mary Jo), and Sara (Memo); grandchildren: Madeleine, Olivia, Frank, Kyle, Tyler, and Mia.
A U.S. Army veteran. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois. He devoted much of his professional life to Rush St. Luke’s Hospital as an Ophthalmic Technician. Frank was a lifelong learner and an avid reader. He enjoyed cooking and found great pleasure in golfing with friends and family.
His greatest joy came from his role as a grandfather. He loved spending time cheering them on from the sidelines at their sporting and Scouting events. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate them or simply spend quality time together.
He will be remembered for his sharp mind, quiet strength, unwavering devotion to his wife, love for his family, as well as a lifetime of friends who were fortunate to know him.
