Francisco “Pancho” De Alba
Francisco “Pancho” De Alba, 77, at rest suddenly on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Born in San Juan de Los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico to Asuncion De Alba and Micaela Gutierrez. Oldest brother to Jesus, Gerardo, Maria De Los Angeles, and Jose. Husband to Martha De Alba and devoted father to Francisco and Micaela. He was also grandfather, loving known as ‘Pancho’, to his 4 grand kids, Valentina, Antonio, Joaquin and Emilia. Uncle/godfather to many nieces and nephews.
Born in Mexico, and at a young age was entrusted to help the family. Work became a necessity. He came to Utah with his father in the mid 60’s but later travelled to Chicago for a better opportunity. Quickly found a job as a machinist in Downers Grove IL. A position he held for 47 years until he retired.
From humble beginnings, he helped support his mother and siblings. Later married, bought home in Westmont and sent 2 kids to college. Never complaining, always had a smile or a joke ready if you didn’t have a smile. He had his quirks. Loved collecting (just visit his garage), had numerous (successful and not successful) diy projects, fan of instrumental music, and had zero fear of heights. He was also an amateur photographer and poet. In his latter years was an active parishioner at Holy Trinity Church and devote of the Virgen de San Juan de Los Lagos.
He was consistently selfless, he would put your interests ahead of his own. He was a person that never had an unkind word to say about anyone, and the opposite is true. Anyone that met him, would have nothing but kind words to say about him. He is now and will forever be sorely missed. He lives forever in our hearts and wonderful memories.
Private interment with burial in Mexico. Arrangements entrusted to Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Westmont. Info 630-852-8000 or www.westsuburbanfh.com
