Dorothy Arlene (Tozzi) McCabe was born September 27th, 1934 in Chicago and moved to Downers Grove in 1947, when she was 13 years old with her parents and siblings. She had to finish the one year of school at Sacred Heart in Chicago and then went on to Downers Grove North High School. After many stepping stone jobs and marriage and divorce and 2 wonderful children, Dorothy ended up at Chicago Gaelic Park in Oak Forest. Dorothy, along with the Gaelic Park Board, invented that place. She made it come to life. She worked there 14 years from August, 1991 to October, 2005 when she retired.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Fiala Tozzi, her father Rocco Anthony Tozzi, her brother Richard Tozzi; devoted mother to Randi and Diane, cherished grandmother of Kris, Zach, Drew, Calli, Lindsey, Maddie and Matt, adoring great-grandmother of Brooke and Makayla and loved mother in law to Bill and Mike; dearest sister of Cheri Franzen, Kathryn Herbold, Terri Sheldahl and Robert Tozzi. Dorothy you were loved in life and will be deeply missed! Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, August 30th, from 5:00 – 6:00, Memorial Service will be from 6:00 – 7:00 at West Suburban Funeral Home, 39 North Cass Avenue, Westmont, Illinois 60559. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Cancer Society.
