Christine Diane Erickson
Christine Diane Erickson, 36, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, formerly of Westmont, passed away suddenly, January 25, 2023. She was born on Christmas Eve, 1986 in Hinsdale, IL, making her Santa’s little gift to her late parents, Stephen and Martha (nee McLees) Erickson. Christine grew up in Westmont, Il as the middle child. Strong-willed and often seen as “The Boss”, she was also a loving soul with a great sense of humor. Playing flute in the school band, singing in the choir, and performing musicals, were some of the ways she demonstrated her musical talents. She loved golfing, always aiming to beat her siblings scores. From elementary through high school, she excelled in extracurriculars such as ice skating, dance, softball, basketball, and volleyball. She frequently spent her weekends enjoying dinner and a movie at Hollywood Blvd. You would never find her without a diet coke in her hand. In 2009 she married Matthew Pelikan at her family’s church, Christ Lutheran of Clarendon Hills. They had two beautiful children, Brooke and Olivia. Christine moved up to Minnesota and graduated with an Associates Degree from Minnesota State Community College and began her career at several healthcare facilities. Christine is survived by her husband Matthew Pelikan; daughters Brooke and Olivia Pelikan; one sister Elizabeth (Ben ) Erickson; one brother Barton Erickson; Godparents Robert Frye and Leanne Erickson; nephews Travis, Benjamin and Nic; her honorary second mother Cynthia Erickson McCoy and many aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen E. Erickson and Martha A. (nee McLees) and one sister, Stephanie Erickson. Visitation Monday February 27, 2023 from 4-7 P.M. at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. Funeral Services Tuesday February 28 at 1P.M. at Christ Lutheran Church 60 55th Street, Clarendon Hills. Visitation at the Church from 12-1 P.M. Interment Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Darien, IL.
