Anthony “Tony” John Baker, 46, of Westmont, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tony was a loving and devoted husband to Katherine “Kat” Baker (née Pokorny); a beloved brother to Timothy Baker and the late Patrick Baker and Kenneth Baker; a cherished son of Orville “Butch” Baker and Patricia Baker (née Schoenberger); and a proud and loving uncle to his nephew, Joseph “Joey” Baker.
Tony was a deeply respected and influential figure in the Chicago music community. A talented audio engineer, producer, and composer, he dedicated his life to music and creativity. He contributed to countless musical projects and was known not only for his technical skill, but for his passion, vision, and generosity toward other artists.
In addition to his work in music, Tony appeared in independent films and was most recently leading Broken Robots, a musical project he co-created with his wife. Through his art and presence, he left a lasting mark on the creative community and on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tony will be remembered for his brilliance, his creativity, and the profound impact he had on those around him. His legacy lives on through his music, his collaborations, and the many lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Tony was an amazing person, he was the first producer I worked with when I started in the music scene. I still remeber recording with Tony in his basement at attic studios, I learned so much about music from this guy. What a legend, Tony you will be missed by so many people. Thank you Tony and rest easy brother.
