Anthony “Tony” Solano
Anthony Solano, 74, of Lisle, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 15, 1950 in Chicago, IL, to Vincent and Irene Solano. Tony married the love of his life, Cindy (nee Concialdi) and had three beautiful children Anthony (Katie), Nicolette (Nick) Morreale and Krista Solano. He was a devoted papa of Luca, Marco, Dante and Elio; a dearest brother of Adam (Darlene) Solano, Rose Allred and the late Vincent (Karen) Solano; and a fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held on Friday October 4, 2024 from 10-1 P.M. followed by 1 P.M. Funeral Service at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. The Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Info 630-852-8000 or westsuburbanfh.com
Although he was a man of few words, Tony’s presence was felt the moment he walked in the room. He had a tough exterior, but was a compassionate and loving soul. His favorite activities in life included coaching his son in baseball, cheering on his daughters’ gymnastics and volleyball matches, spending an evening at the movie theater, golfing with friends, and of course, a good slice of pizza.
Tony took pride in the finer things in life, including the clothes he dressed in and the watches he wore. He also enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as shopping at Costco, driving to no where in particular in his car, and his love for dogs, especially Gia.
His love for music could not be more different, spanning from The Bee Gees, to “Who Let the Dogs Out”, to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow”, to the National Anthem (which he always fought back tears listening to).
Tony cherished his time with his grandsons, Luca, Marco, Dante and Elio, showing them it’s okay to be silly and to enjoy the good (and the bad) of what life brings.
Tony will be remembered for his passion in life, his witty jokes, and his love for his family – Cindy, Anthony, Nicolette, and Krista.
