Anthony “Tony” Valosek, 85 years old, of Darien, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 17, 2025. Tony was the loving son to the late Louis & Louise Valosek. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Patricia (nee Kabat). Proud father to Dawn (Hector) Villarreal, Nicole (David) Oberst, and Ashley (Jon) O’Malley. Forever cherished and remembered by his five grandchildren; Valerie, Logan, Claire, Teagan, and Raelynn as well as to his brother Daniel Valosek (Mariann).

Tony carried the spirit of his hometown throughout his life. As a manager, Tony led the softball team Sobies, later renamed American Rivet, to three world championships, eventually earning him a place in the Chicago 16-inch Softball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed a successful decades long career in the toy industry as owner of Ree Ron Sales. Always generous, he put a smile on countless children’s faces with toy donations at many community events.

Tony lived in Cicero and later put roots down in Riverside where he and Pat raised their three daughters, creating many cherished memories. He was a jokester with a sly sense of humor and loved bringing laughter to others. He looked forward to family puzzle building, canasta card night and a good game of poker with the guys. A true enthusiast, Tony loved antique cars (especially his prized 1955 Ford Thunderbird convertible) and kept an encyclopedic knowledge of every good restaurant he’d ever visited. If you needed a recommendation, Tony was your go-to guide.

Tony will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by his family and friends alike.

Visitation services will be held on Friday, October 24^th, 2025, from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove, IL. Evening chapel services and eulogies will commence at 7:0pm. Funeral services at the funeral home will be on Saturday, October 25^th, 2025 at 9:00am with closing prayers to begin at 9:30am before leaving in procession for a 10:00am funeral mass at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 6700 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60516.
