Beloved Mother to Krysia and Eve Boboch. Predeceased by her husband Mitchell Boboch and her first-born Daughter. Beloved ‘Ciocia Aldona’ and ‘Mama Donna’ to family and friends.

Devout Catholic and member of St Joseph’s Parish.

Avid supporter of St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Morton Arboretum.

A lifelong passion for music, cinema, books, animals, nature and flowers.

Author of 3 books: Mama Donna’s Secrets; life lessons learned and wisdom to share with future generations; As I Remember It: her life story; and Mama Donna’s Friends and Family Recipes from Around the World.

Aldona talked about her life journey in her memoirs and here’s an abbreviated excerpt from her book:

“My life I fully realize now at my sage age, is a gift: as life is to everyone that is born to this world. It is a gift that unwraps its lessons to us each day of our lives. We learn by living, and hopefully, remember the lessons as we grow older and wiser. My life so far, contained every single element of its vast possibilities. The difference is contained in the choices we make… There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful to God for my… wonderful family and friends; to love and to live out this precious gift of life…”

Aldona touched so many lives with her warmth and light. She had an extraordinary gift for uplifting everyone around her –always finding an encouraging word or way to make even strangers smile. She called these small, meaningful acts of kindness Holy Moments –ordinary moments made sacred by spreading joy, hope or comfort when it’s needed. In her honor, let’s keep creating and sharing our own Holy Moments.
