Aldo Peter Brazzale, 88 years old, of Downers Grove, IL and Arlington, TX, passed away on Thursday, February 13th, 2025.  Aldo was devoted to family:  husband to Sandra (nee DeLong), father to Tony and Andrea, Grandfather to Alex, Gwen, Sierra and Jasper, and Uncle to fourteen nieces and nephews.  Born in Chicago, IL he was a dedicated public servant, working for over 50 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers.  He received numerous awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Meritorious Civilian Service Award.  He enjoyed being outdoors, coaching kids’ sports, playing golf, or puttering in the yard.  He will be missed by many.  Please wear a little blue in honor of Aldo’s love of the open sky and his “half glass full” optimism.  In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Cure PSP at www.psp.org.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60515, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral mass will follow the next day at 10:30am Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4801 Main St., Downers Grove, IL 60515. Friends and family are welcome to gather at St. Joseph Catholic Church prior to mass for a church visitation from 9:30am to 10:30am followed by a 10:30am funeral mass.
