John S. LaMantia Sr., 82, of Melrose Park, IL, at rest August 18, 2022. Born December 16, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Sam and Alice LaMantia. Beloved husband of the late Patricia “Penny”; loving father of John S. Jr. (Gina) LaMantia and Alicia (Eduardo) Lugo; devoted grandfather of Alyssa, Cassandra, John S. III and Sonny LaMantia, Samantha and Diego Lugo. John attended Harrison High School in Chicago and was employed in the hospitality industry as bartender and salesman. He enjoyed 16 inch softball, baseball and Golden Gloves Boxing back in the day. John was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox fan and he will be doing what he can to get the White Sox back in the World Series! Interment private.
