Leroy A. “Lee” Vanoni, 88, at rest December 20, 2021. Proud United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. Born February 28, 1933 in Chicago, IL to Sante and Marie Vanoni. Beloved husband of the late Constance “Connie” nee Truhlar; loving father of Theresa (the late George) Giltzow, Connie (Larry) Montagno and Lynn Vanoni; devoted grandfather of Rose and Robert (Jessica) Giltzow, Eric (Samantha) Montagno, Nicole (Craig) Pettican, Gina (Josh) Florian, Kelly (Rob) Candos and James Coleman; dearest great grandfather of Grant, Vivienne, Alexis, Ella, Elena, Aiden, Axel, Peyton and Quinn; dear brother of Carol (the late Joseph) Carone, Richard (Donna) Vanoni and the late Robert (Dolores) Vanoni; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Lee was kind to all. He exemplified patience and dignity. His happy demeanor was infectious, sharing a warm smile and a joke with everyone he met. He shared a lifelong love of sports, rooting for all Chicago teams. Aside from being an avid bowler, he excelled in golf and loved playing softball. He passed down his love of chocolate to his daughters and grandchildren. He was a proud dog dad to Keno, his faithful buddy throughout the past 15 years.
