Dawn Patricia King, age 69, longtime resident of Westmont, at rest June 19, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. Born December 2, 1947 in Berwyn, IL to Rollin and Hildegarde King, she graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, In. Beloved sister of the late Lambert (the late Sharon); loving aunt of Martha King; dearest cousin of several. Ms. King was formerly employed with Westmont Convalescent Center for 22 years. She volunteered at the Westmont Fire Dept., the Westmont Police Dept, the CERT program and the Westmont Police Academy for 15 years. She was a recipient of the 2005 Westmont Citizen of the Year. She also received the 2004 Illinois State Triad Senior Citizen Volunteer Award. Ms. King participated in obtaining the Governors Hometown Awards for the Village of Westmont. Memorials may be made in her name to Ball State University Muncie, Indiana. Interment private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
