Melvin T. Fremarek, 79, of Lemont, peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, July 20^th, 2024. Melvin was born on April 3^rd, 1945, to the late Charles and Veronica Fremarek (nee Zamiara). Melvin was the loving husband to Mary Fremarek (nee Rakic) and the devoted father to Veronica Marziani (Zachary Terpstra) and Melanie Fremarek. Cherished brother to Dennis (Gail) and the late Richard Fremarek & the dearest brother-in-law to the late Donna (Alan) McReady, Christine (the late Michael) Nicholas and Luba (the late Thomas) Gazic. Devoted grandfather to Adrianna & Daniella Marziani and Leonardo Terpstra. Fond Uncle to Michelle Maxia, Laura Fremarek, Diane McDonald, Michael Nicholas, Jeannette Bruno, Deborah Hamlin, Angela Quattro, Nicole Fabbri, Sarena and Miles Gazic.

Mel loved hunting, boating, cooking and being outdoors. He was a proud member of Local 150 Operating Engineers for over 30 years. After retiring in 2010, He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Mel and his wife Mary celebrated their 45^th wedding anniversary on June 16^th, 2024.

Funeral Services Saturday, July 27^th, 2024, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church 608 Sobieski St. Lemont, IL 60439 from 9:00am to 10:00am with a Funeral Mass at 10:00am.
