Wesley E. Diener, 92, lifelong resident of Downers Grove, at rest March 20, 2024. Beloved son of the late Ruben and Clara Diener. Wes was a fixture in his neighborhood and could often be found on his front porch, enjoying the company of friends and passersby and would gladly share a story or two or three.  After a long career with the BNSF railroad, Wes enjoyed traveling the country by train to see the sights.  In his younger years he was an avid biker who loved to explore the parks and trails where he lived.  He remained active later in life by walking with his friends at the Yorktown Mall, and was an annual subscriber to the Lyric Opera, Goodman and Drury Lane theaters. Wes was a loyal member of Faith United Methodist Church in Downers Grove. Visitation Saturday March 30, 2024 from 12-2 P.M. at Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove. Private interment to follow.
