Alex Leroy Maxwell, age 69, at rest December 10, 2017 at Hines VA Hospital. Born April 6, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois to Albert and Elizabeth Maxwell. Entered the United States Army on January 18, 1968 and was discharged on January 21, 1969. Private Maxwell served with the 505th Infantry 82nd Airborne Division until being wounded in the line of duty. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge. Mr. Maxwell’s cremains will be inurned at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Arrangements entrusted to West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation services, Westmont, IL.
