Davy Whitezel, 29, of Crest Hill, IL, passed away suddenly in the early hours of Tuesday August 29, 2023. He is survived by his beloved family; father David (Katia), mother Karen Vogt, sister Julie and brother Jake. Born August 3, 1994, Davy excelled at academics and was an incessant learner, with an insatiable interest in cultures and history – having read the Bible, Torah and Koran by the age of 21. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 150, having proudly achieved Journeyman status in June of 2023.

A prolific writer and muse, Davy had a lifelong love of art, especially the spoken and written word. His poems number in the hundreds, if not thousands. He was a devoted friend, engaging conversationalist, and a true colossus of personality. The lives of many have been touched by his warm, genuine presence and unparalleled generosity. He will be sorely, deeply and eternally missed and loved. 837
