Dorothy Kmieciak (nee Sierakowski), 89, of Carillon in Plainfield, formerly of Lisle, at rest May 21, 2023. Born April 30, 1934 in Chicago to Walter and Adele Sierakowski. Beloved wife of the late Thomas John Kmieciak; loving mother of Thomas (Lora), Gary (Mari) and Nancy (Bill) Potter; devoted grandmother of Brittany, Jamie and Tommy Kmieciak, Lauren (Brian) Beaird, Nicole (Jordan) Lawson, Keeley (Paul) Gugliucci, Lia Kmieciak, Billy Potter and Jennifer (Alex) Robledo; dearest great grandmother of AJ, Jackson, Sullivan, Jace, Miles and Addy; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her parents and brothers Robert and Fred Sierakowski. Dorothy was a longtime parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Church. She was extremely devoted to her family and treasured the time they spent together at their lake home in Morris, IL. Dorothy greatly enjoyed hand sewing Christmas stockings for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Friday 9:30 A.M. from Cappetta’s West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 4920 Main St., Downers Grove to St. Joan of Arc Church for a 10 A.M. Funeral Mass. Interment Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton. Visitation Thursday 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Frank and I are so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother. I have such fond childhood memories of her. She was always so kind and welcoming to me and all those around her… I always loved seeing her warm smile and loved her laugh!! We are sending our love and prayers for the repose of Dorothys soul and for peace and comfort from those who love you during this time of grief. May Dorothy rest peacefully in the loving arms of Christ our Saviour.

Mrs. Kmieciak was such a big part of my childhood. Mine and my sisters!! Growing up across the street was so special! We always knew we could go to the Kmieciaks if we needed anything! She was always so kind! My thoughts and prayers are with all of the family!
